Truth, Beauty, God

14 December – The pastoral text of Fr Reuter is this: 2000 years ago, the stable was beautiful with the beauty of God. When he comes to you at Christmas time, your life will be beautiful, with the beauty of God. Apt image by Petteri Sulonen who captions it ‘Truth, Beauty, God’ (flickr.com/). This is the first time I’m going to use a photo that is all shadow and letters; that is because I have been struck by the words ‘truth beauty god’ that I have never seen together like this – very creative, very true, I believe. Very pregnant with meaning, if you will pardon the exuberance. Whether you are in a stable or shanty or palace, truth and beauty come with God, or they don’t come at all. A palace is a shanty if you can’t see God. A stable or a shanty is a palace if you can see truth & beauty because you see God. A life is worth a life if there is truth or beauty because there is God in it.
