04 December – The pastoral text of Fr Reuter is this: Our Lord forgave the Romans who were nailing Him to the Cross. No matter what you have done, He will forgive you. I know for a fact that it is almost impossible to forgive; I know people who can’t. Now, with Christ, the forgiver is already there. Still, it takes two to forgive. You are forgiven if you ask to be forgiven. The problem is when you don’t know to ask, because you don’t think you have a reason to ask for forgiveness. In that case, a beautiful picture such as this will never be yours, or will never include you.
